Principal Engineer – Cyberbank Core

About the role

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Cyberbank Core team at Galileo, you will lead broad, impactful projects across multiple teams as one of the senior‑most technical contributors shaping the next‑generation lean core banking platform. Your influence will span teams, projects, and geographies, driving both technical direction and how services and data pipelines are designed, built, and operated.

Key responsibilities

• Own and advance Cyberbank Core’s software architecture and systems, setting long‑term direction for core banking services, data pipelines, and the API platform.
• Develop high‑quality code hands‑on while establishing standards for other teams to follow.
• Define clear boundaries, APIs, and integrations between internal teams, clients, and partners across multiple regions.
• Identify and solve complex engineering challenges—architectural, operational, and product‑related.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, compliance, data, and executive stakeholders to define and execute technical strategy.
• Mentor engineers, steward the broader engineering community, and promote safe, frequent releases in a regulated, cloud‑native environment.

Required profile

• Senior‑level technical leader with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale, regulated, cloud‑native systems.
• Strong hands‑on development experience and ability to set high quality standards.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, capable of influencing product, compliance, and executive teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering talent across an organization.
