Part-time Security and Compliance Engineer (2‑3 month contract)

About the role

FullStack is seeking a part‑time Security and Compliance Engineer to join a U.S. client’s team for a 2‑3 month engagement. The role is fully remote and focused on strengthening SOC 2 compliance and overall security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate with the client’s designers and engineers on a daily basis.
• Develop and implement security controls aligned with SOC 2 requirements.
• Audit existing systems, identify gaps, and create transition plans to meet certification standards.
• Design security frameworks, produce technical documentation, and ensure audit readiness.
• Lead policy creation, evidence gathering, and the “heavy lifting” phases of security certifications.
• Maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines and support cloud‑security best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure management.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven track record with SOC 2 compliance and security‑control implementation.
• Experience auditing systems, documenting processes, and working on large, complex environments.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week, take extreme ownership, and thrive in Agile/Scrum teams.
