Network Engineer – Core Infrastructure

About the role

Kraken is looking for a hands‑on Network Engineer to join its Core Infrastructure team. You will help design, build, secure, operate and automate the network and data‑center fabric that powers one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end data‑center infrastructure, including cages, racks, power distribution and structured cabling.
• Deliver connectivity solutions such as circuits, dark‑fiber and direct‑internet‑access, coordinating with carriers and vendors.
• Build and evolve modern data‑center fabrics using technologies like Cisco ACI and Juniper Apstra.
• Implement a zero‑trust, defense‑in‑depth network architecture with firewalls, segmentation and RBAC policies.
• Serve as a first‑line responder for provisioning, access, connectivity and troubleshooting requests.
• Monitor physical and cloud infrastructure, respond to incidents and maintain high availability.
• Develop and manage infrastructure‑as‑code pipelines and automation tools to reduce manual toil.

• Ability to work across build, secure, operate and automate disciplines, growing expertise over time.
• Collaborative attitude, comfortable partnering with engineering, security and IT teams.
