Lead Data Engineer & Architect (Snowflake & GCP)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer & Architect to design, build and optimise a multi‑country data platform for credit risk analytics and real‑time operations. The role combines deep technical execution in Snowflake and GCP with strategic governance, security and FinOps leadership across eight Latin American markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end architecture and continuous modernisation of a regional data platform on Snowflake and Google Cloud.
• Design and maintain ingestion pipelines using GCP Cloud SQL, Datastream CDC, Cloud Storage and Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks.
• Implement a semantic layer and data models (star schema, medallion architecture) with dbt.
• Establish DataOps practices, managing Snowflake DCM projects and GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and enforce multi‑country data governance, RBAC, dynamic masking and row‑level security.
• Optimise cloud costs through FinOps, warehouse sizing, clustering and auto‑suspend policies.
• Mentor data engineers and promote software‑engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in production Snowflake environments.
• Proven experience with GCP services (Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Datastream).
• Fluent Spanish for operational communication and strong English for documentation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Snowflake (virtual warehouses, Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, Snowpark, Time Travel).
• Google Cloud Platform – Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Datastream CDC.
• dbt (Core or Cloud) for transformation workflows.
• GitHub CI/CD and Snowflake Database Change Management projects.
• Advanced SQL and Python for scripting and automation.
• Data governance, RBAC, dynamic data masking, row‑level security.
