Jefe/a de COMEX

About the role

IRONSIDE, a regional fitness company operating across Uruguay, Chile, Mexico and Argentina, is looking for a Jefe/a de COMEX to lead and coordinate all foreign trade activities. The role is based in Uruguay and will oversee the complete import flow, documentation, international payments and regulatory compliance for the group.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the full import process from purchase order issuance to nationalisation and final delivery.
• Track and manage international purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring timely shipments.
• Arrange shipments with freight forwarders, cargo agents, couriers, logistics operators and customs brokers.
• Monitor critical dates such as production, departure, transit, arrival, customs release and delivery.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date view of each operation by country and supplier, anticipating risks, delays and documentation errors.
• Receive, review and register supplier invoices; validate packing lists, certificates of origin, BL/AWB and any sanitary, technical or regulatory documents.
• Work with Finance and Treasury to guarantee timely payments and track payment terms, advances and outstanding balances.
• Collect, organise and keep current product information from suppliers, including technical sheets, tariff codes, composition, origin, dimensions, weight and certifications for ERP and customs filing.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing import operations and foreign trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation and international logistics.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple external partners such as suppliers, freight forwarders and customs agents.
• Detail‑oriented approach to document validation, invoice processing and risk mitigation.
• Excellent organisational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance across several Latin American markets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for import and product data management.
• Expertise in customs documentation and import regulations.
• Experience in invoice processing and international payment coordination.
