Head of Global Talent Operations (Uruguay)
Trolley AI · Montevideo
Description du poste
About the role
Trolley, a remote creative operations company, is hiring a full-time contractor to own its global talent operations function for a client program, end to end: team, systems, tools, financial performance and service delivery. The role reports to the CEO and requires a 6-hour overlap with Pacific Time. It replaces agency placements and part-time coverage, building one business unit with one accountable owner, a budget, a margin and clear service levels.
Key responsibilities
- Own the unit's P&L, budget, forecast and cash view, with monthly budget-versus-actual reporting and a healthy margin on a $2.5M to $5M annual workforce cost.
- Manage the Account Manager, the Administrator and a pool of recruiters, and decide the final top-five shortlist for each role; you do not source or interview candidates in volume.
- Approve spend within the agreed budget; client finance, People and Legal leaders approve roles, budgets and terms, and offers outside agreed bands go to the CEO.
- Run monthly close, payroll and contractor payment sign-off, invoicing and collections, with audit-ready records and no duplicate or wrong payments.
- Deliver about thirty hires over six to seven months, with a workforce plan and hiring calendar agreed with client leaders.
- Oversee contractor agreements, statements of work, country classification, background checks and work authorization, with counsel writing the final legal language.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, the access register, agencies, vendors and recruiting technology, using AI and no-code automation to lower agency spend and manual work.
- Produce weekly reports, monthly and quarterly reviews, and documented procedures and playbooks so the unit can run and scale without depending on one person.
Required profile
- Experience running a business or function end to end with a P&L and a team, and managing a multi-million-dollar workforce or operating budget.
- Controller-level finance skills: ledger, payroll, payables, receivables, cash flow, forecasting, monthly close and budgets.
- Knowledge of global hiring: contractor and employee classification, employer-of-record models, local labor law and contract writing.
- Ability to lead managers, handle difficult conversations and write short updates in fluent Spanish and English.
- Advanced written and spoken English, and advanced use of AI in daily work.
Required skills
- Excel Level 2
- Contractor and employment classification, employer-of-record models
- AI tools
The hiring process typically includes a 15-minute interview, a skills test, a 30-minute interview with the manager and a final interview with the CEO. Applications from agencies or recruiters are not considered.
