General Manager – MariaDB (Remote)

About the role

Percona is looking for a General Manager to own and expand its MariaDB database business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive innovation, thought leadership, and adoption of open‑source MariaDB solutions across community and enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow Percona’s MariaDB database business, setting strategy and revenue targets.
• Lead a small, high‑impact team delivering 24/7 support, managed services, and professional services.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success to capture new opportunities, renewals, and expansions.
• Drive technical marketing, thought leadership, and partnerships within the MariaDB ecosystem.
• Contribute to open‑source projects and oversee development of Percona‑maintained software.

Required profile

• Business‑savvy technologist with deep knowledge of databases and open‑source ecosystems.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with extreme ownership and ability to operate without constant direction.
• Proven experience building and scaling technology businesses or product lines.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to align cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with MariaDB‑compatible databases.
• Knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
