Full‑Time Housekeeper

About the role

The Housekeeper ensures a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors in a healthcare/long‑term care facility. This full‑time position focuses on maintaining public areas, resident rooms and overall facility hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains and all common areas.
• Sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms on a regular schedule.
• Wipe down handrails, mirrors, windows, light fixtures and other surfaces to remove dust and debris.
• Empty trash cans, replace liners and manage waste disposal.
• Sweep, mop and maintain all floor surfaces throughout the facility.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and follow manufacturer instructions.
• Store chemicals securely, use caution signage and follow safety protocols.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas organized and sanitary.
• Report resident safety concerns and supply needs to the appropriate supervisors.
• Provide courteous customer service and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long‑term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to read manuals and procedure documents.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive cleaning motions.
