Freelance Peer Reviewer – Geotechnical & Coastal Engineering

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers to join our network of freelance peer reviewers specializing in geotechnical and coastal engineering. Reviewers will evaluate submitted manuscripts for academic journals, ensuring scientific rigor and relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyze results and conclusions for clarity and validity.
• Provide constructive, written feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least two peer‑reviewed publications within the last two years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethics.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms.
