Fraud Prevention Analyst II

About the role

dLocal is looking for a motivated Fraud Prevention Analyst II to join its fast‑growing payments team. You will work on a Tuesday‑to‑Saturday schedule, helping to protect merchants and customers across emerging markets by automating fraud detection and driving data‑driven risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement automation opportunities for manual fraud detection tasks, creating scalable workflows.
• Review complex fraud alerts, handle escalations, and uncover deep patterns, trends, or behaviors.
• Build, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports to track fraud, chargeback, and conversion metrics.
• Document, audit, and continuously improve fraud operational procedures for consistency and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deploy automated rules and fraud‑prevention tools.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge, best practices, and industry insights.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in fraud prevention, risk management, e‑commerce, or the payments industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable fraud‑prevention strategies.
• Ownership mindset, taking responsibility for investigations and process improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills for manipulating large datasets and creating reports.
• SQL proficiency to write queries on transaction data, investigate fraud patterns, and validate rule performance.
