FinOps Lead - Payments Economics
Zonamerica · Département Montevideo
Description du poste
About the role
Rebill is a financial infrastructure platform for the Americas, used by companies in software, AI, travel and digital services across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and the United States. It runs entities in several countries, an accounting firm in each, accounts across multiple banks and a growing base of vendors. The company needs one person who owns the financial operation end to end and understands how a payments business makes and loses money.
Key responsibilities
- Pricing and commercial margin: build and maintain the cost model behind every deal (processing, FX spread, installments, taxes, settlement), review pricing before it goes to a merchant and track realized margin by merchant and country
- Cost control: reconcile processing and FX costs against provider billing each month and explain variances
- Monthly close: make the existing agent closes faster and more accurate by reviewing outputs, fixing rules and code, and cutting close days and manual exceptions; work in Python on the pipeline that runs it
- Procurement: design and run the process from request to payment, including approvals, vendor onboarding, payment calendar and execution across entities and currencies
- Accounting firms: manage them as critical vendors, covering deliverables, deadlines, quality, cost and tax obligations in each country
- Banks and admin: handle account openings, KYC/KYB, signatories, powers of attorney and bank requests
Required profile
- 3 to 5 years in finance, FinOps or control, with at least 2 inside a payments company (PSP, acquirer, payfac, cross-border or fintech with its own processing)
- Strong understanding of payments economics (MDR, interchange, FX spread, installments, chargebacks, settlement) and ability to judge whether a deal makes money before signing
- Has built or owned a pricing or margin model, not just reported on one
- Background in accounting, economics, engineering or similar
- Based in Uruguay, able to work from Zonamerica at least 3 days a week; hybrid model Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Nice to have: LatAm cross-border or FX/treasury experience, multi-country procurement or accounts payable experience, working Portuguese for Brazil
Required skills
- Python and SQL
- Automation of real processes, using AI tools and agents daily
- Strong reconciliation and multi-currency skills
- High-level English, working in English with banks, vendors and the founders
What we offer
- Competitive package
- Direct access to the founders, with no layers in between
- A real room to build: the process is yours to design
