Data Scientist – Azure Databricks

About the role

TCS is looking for a Data Scientist with strong expertise in Azure Databricks to join a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. You will turn complex data sets into actionable insights, build predictive models, and support data‑driven decisions across multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights aligned with business objectives.
• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions.
• Build scalable data processing pipelines using Azure Databricks.
• Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to define data requirements and use cases.
• Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering for modeling.
• Validate, test, and monitor models to ensure performance and reliability.
• Visualize findings through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
• Support model deployment and production monitoring, following MLOps best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex results to non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work in Agile, cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Python programming and data‑science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn).
• Azure Databricks for data processing and analytics.
• Big‑data technologies, especially Spark (PySpark preferred).
• Data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• SQL for querying large‑scale datasets.
• Familiarity with Azure ecosystem tools (Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure ML) is a plus.
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and MLOps practices.
