Data Engineer

About the role

The Mortgage Cadence team is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that support analytics, compliance, and operational reporting. This role is execution‑focused and will gain increasing ownership of end‑to‑end data workflows as familiarity with the platform grows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Dataflow Gen2, Notebooks, Lakehouse) and write optimized SQL transformations for data ingestion.
• Apply data quality rules, perform validation at each pipeline stage, and maintain data quality dashboards and SLA monitoring.
• Develop dimensional models, define aggregation logic, and optimize data structures for performance.
• Document transformation logic, lineage, and assumptions according to team standards.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, coordinate with IT/Engineering, and support UAT for new data sources.
• Assist with capacity planning and optimization of Fabric environments.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in advanced SQL, including query optimization, window functions, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric or equivalent ETL tools (e.g., Python, dbt, Talend, Informatica).
• Solid understanding of relational database design and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Power Query/M for complex data shaping and error handling.
• Basic knowledge of Git/version control for collaborative development.
