Cloud Engineer – Platform Engineering

About the role

Lightspeed is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team. You will work closely with development squads, providing self‑service infrastructure, GitOps automation, and AI‑powered tooling to accelerate delivery of cloud workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain self‑service platforms that enable developers to provision and manage AWS resources.
• Embed within development squads as a cloud infrastructure guide and strategic partner.
• Design reusable Terraform modules for scalable infrastructure patterns.
• Develop AI‑driven automation tools to reduce manual operational overhead.
• Create developer‑friendly abstractions using GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and Helm.
• Maintain modular Terraform code for EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and core AWS services.
• Leverage AI tools to speed up Terraform module development, code review, and documentation.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines that allow safe infrastructure changes by developers.

Required profile

• Strong experience partnering with developers on cloud architecture decisions.
• Proven ability to design and implement automation that eliminates toil.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, collaborative squads.
