Charging Project Utility, Design, & Permitting Coordinator

About the role

Tesla is seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to lead the maturation of Supercharger projects from concept through construction‑ready status. The role blends architectural and engineering design, permitting, and utility coordination to deliver high‑quality charging sites on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of the Design program, delivering a high volume of construction‑ready charging site designs.
• Develop and mentor the Design team, handling hiring, onboarding, performance management, and talent development.
• Provide regional technical expertise, creating site‑specific design solutions that improve customer experience, speed, and cost.
• Lead innovation initiatives, piloting new products, design approaches, and processes for efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with Development and Construction leads to maintain a continuous flow of new projects and allocate design resources effectively.
• Build and maintain relationships with regional utilities and permitting authorities to accelerate approvals.
• Identify and implement process improvements to overcome regulatory obstacles.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in architectural and engineering design, construction, and project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for innovative design solutions.
