Application, Database & Security Administrator

About the role

The Application, Database & Security Administrator is responsible for building, implementing, operating and supporting application and database environments while ensuring system availability, performance, security and operational stability. The role provides technical leadership and coordinates with vendors, developers and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor procedures for daily operations, including file transfers, scheduled jobs, batch processes and integrations.
• Monitor application availability, job results, alerts, interface failures and overall health, and create scripts and automation to support operations.
• Provide after‑hours and on‑call support for critical production issues and recommend preventive actions.
• Build, operate and support application and database environments, tune system performance and support data validation.
• Troubleshoot application, interface, batch, file transfer and database incidents, investigate root causes and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Establish and manage user and database access controls, enforce change control, audit logging and security procedures.
• Participate in security reviews, audits and risk assessments, and support implementation of application controls.
• Work with vendors on production incidents, upgrades, patches and regulatory changes.
• Support cloud‑related application activities, including deployments in AWS and use of AWS services.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in IT operations, application support, database administration and security administration, preferably in banking or financial environments.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (preferred).

Required skills

• Microsoft SQL administration and SQL troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows environments.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud services and cloud concepts.
• Ability to create technical documentation, runbooks and incident notes.
• Strong analytical, logical reasoning and problem‑solving abilities.
