Android Developer – Native Kotlin & Jetpack Compose

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to join ThinkUp’s agile team and build innovative mobile solutions for high‑impact clients across LATAM. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from business analysis and design to delivery and continuous improvement of modern, scalable Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop native Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM/MVI architectures while adhering to clean code and clean architecture principles.
• Participate actively in product definition, questioning requirements and proposing technical solutions aligned with commercial goals.
• Define and maintain quality standards, including automated testing (unit, instrumented, E2E with Maestro), CI/CD pipelines (Codemagic, GitHub Actions), and feature‑flag management (RemoteConfig, Flagsmith).
• Implement observability tools such as Crashlytics and Sentry and make data‑driven decisions based on production metrics.
• Apply mobile security best practices for fintech, including biometric authentication, Play Integrity API, secure storage, and handling of sensitive data.
• Lead code reviews focused on quality and best practices.
• Work with agent‑based development tools (skills, hooks, agents) to automate repetitive tasks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin as the primary language.
• Strong mastery of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and MVVM/MVI architectures, with a genuine focus on clean code and clean architecture.
• Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and feature‑flag systems as enablers of continuous delivery.
• Deep experience with automated testing embedded as a cultural practice.
• Interest or experience in agent‑based development to automate the development workflow.
• Passion for performance, product quality, and technical process automation.
• Ownership mindset: understand the why behind each feature and think about measuring its ROI.
• Proactive attitude with a genuine interest in business understanding, not just technical execution.
