VoIP Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Telnyx is looking for a remote VoIP Engineer to join its Telephony team. You will work across the full Telnyx Telephony Engine, helping design new features, guide developers, and resolve complex issues for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and document how all Telephony services integrate with the platform.
• Design, build, test, deploy and maintain monitoring, alerting, QA and logging tools for Telephony applications.
• Operate, maintain, expand and support SIP proxies built on Kamailio or OpenSIPS.
• Handle Level‑3 troubleshooting escalations, triage issues and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve them.
• Analyze telephony traffic patterns, identify anomalies and react to critical alerts.
• Troubleshoot voice and network protocol communication problems.
• Interface with partner organizations for interconnections and expansions.

Required profile

• Strong background in VoIP technologies and telephony systems.
• Comfortable managing many moving pieces and paying close attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and systems quickly.
