Software Engineer

About the role

PensionBee is looking for a Software Engineer to help build world‑class products for its fast‑growing retirement platform. The role is contract‑based, primarily remote, and ideally based in Montevideo with occasional in‑person collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and ship features as part of cross‑functional product teams.
• Model best practices and mentor junior developers.
• Own parts of the technical stack, contributing to product delivery and technical innovation.
• Participate in architecture, production systems, automation, and internal tooling decisions.
• Take on increasing leadership responsibilities as the team scales, potentially moving into people management.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Experience collaborating in agile, cross‑functional teams.
• Interest in financial‑technology products and delivering high‑quality user experiences.
