Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

WorldQuant is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and evolve a complex, distributed architecture that spans physical servers, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud environments. You will join a high‑impact team focused on operational excellence, reliability, and performance for our systematic financial strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and improve a multi‑layered stack covering Linux hosts, containers, and cloud services.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
• Collaborate closely with developers to integrate AI‑driven solutions into production.
• Mentor junior staff and share best practices across the team.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.

Required profile

• Strong background in Linux system internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts and ability to debug complex connectivity issues.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed systems such as Kubernetes, Kafka, and Kerberos.
• Proficiency with containers, virtualization, and modern SDLC practices.
