Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Makai is seeking a talented, highly skilled, and proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its growing remote team. In this full‑time position you will be the hands‑on expert driving quality initiatives, ensuring product reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑End Quality Ownership: manage the entire QA lifecycle from requirement analysis to release readiness reporting.
• In‑Depth Functional & Regression Testing: perform manual functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing for each release.
• API & Backend Testing: use Postman and write complex SQL queries to validate business logic and data integrity across SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Defect Management: identify, document, isolate and track bugs, collaborating closely with developers to verify fixes.
• Process Advocacy & Improvement: champion QA best practices, provide feedback during grooming sessions and help evolve tools and methodologies.
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: share expertise, coach teammates and foster a strong culture of quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong knowledge of modern QA methodologies, test design techniques and full SDLC/STLC within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Proficiency in database testing with complex SQL queries and experience in relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Ability to read and understand code in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) and excellent analytical attention to detail.
