Senior Java Engineer – Microservices & AWS

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join Tata Consultancy Services Uruguay and support a global customer. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining Java‑based micro‑service solutions in the cloud, working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead significant areas of development throughout the software lifecycle.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback on design and implementation.
• Make tactical and strategic technical decisions in collaboration with the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist them in problem solving.
• Develop, deploy and support Java backend services on AWS.
• Participate in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) ceremonies and ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive Java development experience, including micro‑service architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, databases, caching and messaging.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Unix‑based environments.
• Proficiency with GitLab or similar source‑code repositories.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to support deployments and occasional off‑hour incidents.
