Regional Vegetables Commercial Finance Lead LATAM

About the role

Syngenta is seeking a Regional Vegetables Commercial Finance Lead for the LATAM region, based in Montevideo, Uruguay. This senior finance partner will work closely with the Commercial Leadership team to drive commercial performance, forecasting, and strategic financial decisions across the vegetables business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide finance expertise and strategic advice to support decision‑making across the LATAM vegetables region.
• Lead full P&L management, including working capital, latest outlook, risk & opportunity tracking, and coordination of the planning cycle (sales, GP forecast, S&OP).
• Deliver budgets and forecasts, balancing short‑, medium‑ and long‑term planning while challenging resource allocation.
• Conduct risk‑based analysis on economic and commercial exposures (FX, currency, investments) and propose mitigation strategies.
• Co‑create and review commercial terms, price models, discounts, rebates, and incentive plans; support in‑season tactics and new business models.
• Lead annual budget preparation and support the 5‑Year Plan development with business leadership.
• Coordinate regional strategic initiatives such as GTM reviews, FISO structuring, and new business model rollouts.
• Manage accounts receivable through financial terms and solutions, ensuring collaboration with TFCM and other stakeholders.
• Partner with the FP&A Finance Analyst team to drive continuous improvement, standardized reporting, and advanced analytics tools.

Required profile

• Strong commercial finance background with proven experience in P&L management and budgeting.
• Ability to analyse and mitigate financial risks, including FX and currency exposures.
• Experience collaborating with commercial leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of supporting strategic initiatives and long‑term planning (5‑Year Plan).
• Excellent communication skills to influence decisions and drive performance.
