MongoDB Database Support Engineer – Remote (Americas)

About the role

Percona is looking for a passionate MongoDB Database Support Engineer to join its remote‑first team serving the Americas. You will be on the front line, helping customers solve complex MongoDB challenges while contributing to the growth of our open‑source support organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support for MongoDB deployments, including configuration, performance tuning, backup, replica set and sharding.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues, collaborating with customers in English.
• Assist fellow support engineers, create blog posts and support content, and work with product teams to influence roadmap.
• Participate in occasional travel for team meetings, conferences, or on‑site customer visits.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of MongoDB and relational databases (schema design, indexing, query optimization, monitoring).
• Hands‑on experience administering Linux systems.
• Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) and major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Digital Ocean).
• Methodical troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Completed MongoDB University courses and experience working with customers in English.
