Management Accountant - Trading Entities

About the role

Trafigura is looking for a Management Accountant in Montevideo. The role prepares clean trial balances for the company's trading entities and supports all aspects of monthly financial and management reporting. It offers exposure to several areas of a trading business and the chance to liaise with other business departments internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in system migration activities, including UAT support, data migration, early go-live stabilization and related tasks.
• Perform revenue recognition checks on trading ledgers to ensure compliance with accounting policy, and follow up exceptions with other areas.
• Ensure proper stock reconciliations and reconcile trade information between trading systems and the accounting system.
• Prepare journals to adjust balances to comply with accounting standards, and reconcile local versus group financials.
• Work closely with the Mid Office, applying effective controls in a fast-moving business.
• Analyze accruals, aged debtors and creditors, and intercompany positions.
• Review areas requiring grossing up or netting of the balance sheet, ensure discounted receivables are properly disclosed, and review prepayments and pre-financing balances.
• Carry out transfer pricing review and approval.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in accounting or finance.
• Qualified accountant.
• Experience in Big Four auditing is valued.
• Familiarity with international accounting principles.
• Excellent English and Spanish, oral and written, at advanced or C2 level.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Ability to use multiple systems at once.
