About the role
The Chief Engineer will plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of the tugboat, ensuring efficient, safe and continuous operation of all systems and equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and supervise the main and auxiliary machinery of the vessel.
- Plan and carry out timely preventive maintenance using the NSE system, recording all actions accurately.
- Perform corrective maintenance within the scope of authority to quickly return the vessel to service.
Required profile
- Valid Chief Engineer title without power limitations.
- Current seafarer’s book (libreta de embarque) and OMI safety courses (1.13, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21).
- At least 2 years of experience leading an engine room.
- Willingness to work in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the NSE maintenance system.
- Marine machinery operation.
- Preventive maintenance planning.
- Corrective maintenance execution.
