IT Field Services Engineer

About the role

The IT Field Services Engineer provides on‑site technical support for hardware and software at customer locations in Montevideo. The role involves troubleshooting, installation, and validation of a wide range of IT equipment, ensuring continuous operation of user devices and conference solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software incidents on‑site, including server/storage reboots, power cycles, and MACD activities.
• Perform hardware installations, testing, and post‑deployment validation of equipment and devices.
• Provide “smart hands & feet” support for audio‑visual conference rooms, endpoints, meeting‑room panels, and live events.
• Conduct deskside support for user devices, addressing driver issues, peripheral faults, OS problems, and network access.
• Support software applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud on user devices.
• Update customer location surveys, rack elevations, and equipment inventories.
• Coordinate with Service Desk, third‑party vendors, and client support teams to deliver comprehensive service.
• Assist end users with data backup, restoration, and device replacement through warranty or hot‑swap procedures.

Required profile

• Strong troubleshooting mindset with ability to work independently on‑site.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with end users, vendors, and internal teams.
• Experience documenting service activities and obtaining user acknowledgments.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and support live events as needed.
