Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – General Purpose

About the role

This full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) position oversees the day‑to‑day nursing activities within a long‑term care facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), the RN ensures that all care delivery meets current federal, state, and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily nursing operations and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in directing nursing services and updating policies and procedures.
• Maintain current reference materials (e.g., PDRs, regulations) at nursing stations.
• Ensure the Nursing Service Procedures Manual reflects current practices and that staff adhere to it.
• Prepare written and oral reports for the Director regarding nursing department performance.
• Review and recommend revisions to departmental policies, job descriptions, and manuals.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in quality‑assurance programs and facility inspections by government agencies.
• Review, update, and assist in planning resident discharge plans.
• Lead staff meetings to plan departmental services, programs, and activities.

Required profile

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in supervising nursing staff within a long‑term care setting.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local nursing regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and policy development.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate resident care.
