Freelance Python Data Scraping Engineer

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Python Data Scraping Engineer to join the Tendem project. This part‑time remote position involves collaborating with AI‑driven agents while applying critical thinking and domain expertise to deliver high‑quality, structured data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own end‑to‑end data extraction workflows for complex, dynamic websites.
• Utilise internal tools such as Apify and OpenRouter, as well as custom Python scripts, to collect and validate data.
• Handle JavaScript‑rendered content, AJAX calls, infinite scroll and other interactive elements.
• Enforce data quality through validation checks, cross‑source consistency, and formatting standards.
• Scale scraping operations using batching, parallelisation, and monitoring to maintain stability against site changes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver reliable results on schedule.
