Especialista Senior en Virtualización y Storage

About the role

We are looking for a senior specialist in virtualization and storage to join a leading Uruguayan company. The role requires a comprehensive view of infrastructure, from data‑center architecture design to automation and critical incident resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑availability data‑center architectures, hyper‑convergent solutions (HCI) and storage schemes tailored to business needs.
• Implement and provide advanced support for virtualization platforms and storage systems.
• Design, configure and troubleshoot storage networks, including Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
• Lead resolution of critical incidents and coordinate actions with manufacturers and specialized teams.
• Promote infrastructure‑as‑code using scripting, Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines.
• Act as a technical reference: mentor colleagues, participate in complex pre‑sales and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in design, troubleshooting and optimization of solutions.

Required profile

• Technical or university degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of specialized experience in computing, virtualization and storage.
• Advanced Linux administration skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes (administration and troubleshooting).
• Strong knowledge of storage concepts: LUNs, provisioning, RAID, snapshots and replication.
• Understanding of storage networking technologies such as Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
