Elixir Backend Engineer – Remote – Latin America

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join our client’s development team on a remote, project‑based basis. You will work closely with designers and engineers to build robust, high‑performance APIs that power mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Implement and optimize relational database schemas with PostgreSQL and Ecto.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and ensure reliable connectivity.
• Write automated tests and uphold code quality standards.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain and improve legacy codebases while enhancing reliability.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to solve complex problems.
