Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Director of Housekeeping leads the entire guest experience related to cleanliness and stateroom service on board. This senior leader ensures premium, memorable service through meticulous execution, quality control, and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall cleanliness standards and guest experience across all assigned areas.
• Manage and develop the housekeeping team, ensuring proper training, scheduling, and performance.
• Maintain compliance with public health standards, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Control budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and oversee inventory and procurement.
• Collaborate with department heads and shipboard crew to resolve issues and improve service delivery.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of housekeeping management experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise lines (shipboard experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, health standards, and safety protocols.
• Proven ability to manage headcount, budgets, and expense reduction.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using industry software such as Issu Trax, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Berthing Manager, Medallia, Kronos, and the Celebrity App.
