Data Engineer

About the role

TCS is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support a global customer. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines while collaborating with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data‑engineering practices.
• Orchestrate workflows with Airflow and implement CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Integrate on‑premise and cloud systems (e.g., Oracle to Snowflake) using CDC or similar technologies.
• Participate in data‑modeling initiatives to support analytics and reporting.
• Optimize queries, pipelines, and storage for performance and cost efficiency.
• Maintain documentation, data lineage, and best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex query development and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
• Experience with CDC tools, real‑time/streaming pipelines, and ETL/ELT platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with Airflow, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and version control (Git).
