Compliance Officer

About the role

The Compliance Officer will support Impala Terminals Group's commercial compliance function, working closely with the Senior Compliance Officer to implement and maintain the company's compliance programme across multiple geographies and business lines.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Commercial Compliance Programme.
• Provide day‑to‑day compliance guidance on ABAC, AML, economic and trade sanctions, and conflicts of interest.
• Assist in preparing and coordinating the annual Compliance Risk Review for all group entities.
• Draft and implement compliance policies and procedures aligned with group standards.
• Coordinate and deliver in‑person compliance training across terminals and regional offices.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on third parties according to established procedures.
• Support monitoring activities such as expense controls, gifts and entertainment, and personal interest declarations.
• Perform vessel screening checks and maintain the whistleblowing framework.
• Assist with compliance investigations, report writing, and remediation tracking.
• Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Group Compliance Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or a related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CAMS, CFE are a plus).
• 1‑2 years of proven experience in compliance, ethics or a related area, preferably within logistics, terminals, commodities or trading.
• Knowledge of ABAC, AML, sanctions and anti‑trust regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, international environment.
