AI Integration Engineer (Remote, Latin America and South Africa)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is adding an AI automation layer to its way of working and is hiring an AI Integration Engineer. This is a builder role, not a research role: you will build production systems on top of AI models, working directly with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented roadmap of automation workflows into shipped, working systems. The position is remote and open to candidates in Latin America and South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that cut manual hours across the design and development production process.
• Set up automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and the internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Candidates apply through a short online form; applications are reviewed after a brief 6-minute Predictive Index assessment, so the same email should be used throughout.
