Accountant – US GAAP (Hospitality Focus)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a reliable Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients operating under US GAAP. This remote, client‑facing position offers high ownership and the chance to work across hotels, restaurants, and related businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for multiple hospitality clients, including general ledger management, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions, and communicate results.
• Identify and flag discrepancies, process gaps, or improvement opportunities.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs and varying business models.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with full close‑cycle ownership.
• Solid, practical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience working with US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Self‑directed, organized, and able to thrive in fast‑paced environments.
