Senior Telecommunications & Networks Administrator

About the role

SONDA is looking for a Senior Telecommunications and Networks Administrator to join its client’s data‑center team in Montevideo. You will work on complex network environments, ensuring high availability, performance and security of Cisco‑based infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and manage Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches.
• Administer Cisco ACI fabric and related policies.
• Implement and maintain VLANs, trunking, STP, ACLs, PBR and L4 load‑balancing.
• Manage SAN networking and multivendor equipment (routers, firewalls).
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot N2/N3 incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Carry out structured cabling, rack installation and equipment provisioning.
• Handle tickets, coordinate with vendors and keep technical documentation up‑to‑date.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and ACI environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VLAN, trunking, STP, ACLs, PBR and L4 load‑balancing.
• Hands‑on experience with SAN, multivendor networks and data‑center cabling.
• Ability to use network monitoring tools and produce clear technical reports.
• CCNA or Network+ certification (mandatory); CCNP or Security+ preferred.
• Degree or technical training in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT or related fields.
