Part-time Security and Compliance Engineer (2‑3 months) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Security and Compliance Engineer to join a U.S. client’s team for a 2‑3 month engagement. The role is fully remote and focuses on strengthening SOC 2 compliance and overall security posture of a software‑driven business.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate with the client’s designers and engineers and collaborate daily.
• Develop, implement, and document security controls aligned with SOC 2 requirements.
• Audit existing systems, identify gaps, and create transition plans to achieve certification.
• Design security frameworks and produce technical documentation for audit readiness.
• Lead the “heavy lifting” phases of certification, including policy creation and evidence gathering.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure cloud security best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure management.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year degree.
• Proven track record with SOC 2 compliance projects.
• Strong auditing, documentation, and cloud security skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams on large, complex systems.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week and take extreme ownership of deliverables.
