Firmware Engineer I

About the role

Integer is seeking a Firmware Engineer I to join its R&D team in Montevideo. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining firmware for both implantable and non‑implantable medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware for implantable pulse generators, chargers, and related accessories.
• Design, execute, and maintain integration, stress, and regression tests.
• Write and review Firmware Requirements and Firmware Design documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers, customers, and quality teams to translate needs into clear specifications.
• Research and prototype new processes and technologies for next‑generation medical devices.
• Support manufacturing excellence and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience or academic background in embedded firmware development for medical or related devices.
• Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to challenge existing practices and contribute to process improvement.
