About the role

LawnStarter is expanding its outdoor services platform and needs an Engineering Manager to lead cross‑functional delivery teams. This people‑first role focuses on both reliable shipping and professional growth of engineers in a fully remote, distributed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional delivery teams of 4‑5 engineers, ensuring reliable shipping and professional growth.
• Own people development with concrete growth plans for each individual contributor, manage performance, and address conflict directly.
• Drive delivery cadence, surface risks early, manage scope, and maintain predictable quality.
• Partner with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to make decisions and coordinate releases.
• Guide technical direction, weigh in on system design, and introduce AI tools to improve workflow.

Required profile

• Proven experience building people‑leadership depth while scaling engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage fully remote, distributed teams across time zones.
• Strong conflict‑resolution skills and a data‑driven approach to people and delivery metrics.
• Deep AI integration experience, having introduced AI workflows (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate development.
