Senior/Staff Backend Engineer – Remote

About the role

Nango, a YC‑backed developer infrastructure company, is looking for senior‑level Backend Engineers to join its core team. You will own end‑to‑end backend systems that power an open‑source platform used by hundreds of paying customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services, APIs, and runtimes for the Nango platform.
• Create developer‑focused interfaces such as SDKs, APIs, and UI components.
• Collaborate directly with customers to resolve integration challenges.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of high‑traffic services.
• Influence product roadmap and company strategy through technical ownership.
• Maintain and contribute to Nango’s open‑source repositories.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience (senior) or 10+ years (staff) with a track record of scaling high‑traffic systems.
• Deep familiarity with developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance‑critical applications.
• Passion for developer tools and delivering excellent developer experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first environment.
• Product mindset, low ego, and readiness to handle incidents and unblock teammates.
• Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe.
