Accountant – Montevideo, Uruguay

About the role

PIL is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of financial reporting and accounting activities for its Montevideo office. The role ensures compliance with local GAAP, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting the global finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing in line with local GAAP.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, notes and annual reports.
• Maintain accurate reconciliations for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, social security and fixed assets.
• Consolidate monthly reporting to headquarters using Oracle GFS/FCCS within the Day +5 deadline.
• Calculate tax provisions, deferred tax and ensure full compliance with national tax regulations.
• Coordinate transfer‑pricing documentation and intercompany charge validation.
• Lead external audit processes and support internal audit visits.
• Uphold internal control standards, segregation of duties and Group delegation of authority.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Uruguayan GAAP and tax legislation.
• Proven experience in month‑end close, statutory reporting and audit coordination.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external advisors.
