Data Engineer (Azure) – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with Azure expertise to join a fast‑growing, remote team serving clients across Latin America. You will design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines that feed analytical data to data scientists and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python (PySpark) within Azure Synapse Analytics notebooks and pipelines.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including star schemas, facts, and dimensions, on a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) SQL pool.
• Extract data from REST APIs, SQL databases, and CSV files.
• Apply Azure Synapse best practices to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Contribute to data‑fabric initiatives such as data lakes, lakehouses, delta lakes, and data cataloging.
• Collaborate with data architects to create data models that meet business requirements.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and performance tuning to meet SLAs.
• Monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot issues, and document solutions.
