iOS Software Engineer (Contractor via Deel)

About the role

Compass is seeking a senior iOS Software Engineer to lead the redesign of its System Designs framework. The role is fully remote, based in Uruguay, and operates on a contract basis through Deel.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and re‑think the existing System Designs framework used by over 20 iOS developers.
• Design and implement new components iteratively in a startup‑like, agile environment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering partners to turn ideas into production‑ready features.
• Guide junior engineers, ensuring best practices and operational excellence.
• Maintain and evolve the design system post‑release, incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience building iOS applications.
• Strong architectural sense with a track record of improving large codebases.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, make pragmatic trade‑offs, and mentor junior team members.
• Comfort working autonomously in a remote, fast‑paced environment.
