About the role

Mapfre is seeking a Risk Underwriter to join its team. The professional will analyze financial and commercial information to classify credit and surety risk, ensuring decisions are consistent, timely, and aligned with the company’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial and commercial data to define credit and surety risk classifications.
• Monitor and manage the risk portfolio, identifying opportunities and potential deviations.
• Administer a client portfolio, providing proactive and high‑quality service.
• Collaborate closely with the Commercial area to support client retention and development.
• Propose and implement actions to preserve or recover portfolio profitability.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external clients, substantiating underwriting decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in financial analysis, risk evaluation, or company valuation.
• Preferable experience in insurance companies, financial institutions, or credit underwriting roles.
• Strong ability to interpret financial statements and assess organizational financial health.
• Business‑oriented mindset with strong client focus and clear communication skills.
• Advanced English proficiency for international professional interactions.
