Structured Trade Finance Analyst

About the role

The Structured Trade Finance Analyst will support all aspects of structured commodity finance across our Latin American portfolio. This includes origination, structuring, syndication, documentation, risk participation, and working‑capital estimation to ensure financing solutions meet regional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Commercial Team in business development and negotiations.
• Analyse client data and prepare financial proposals.
• Structure transactions that meet customer needs while minimizing risk exposure.
• Distribute risk across banking and insurance markets.
• Identify and mitigate credit, operational, political, and legal risks.
• Provide management recommendations based on deal analysis.
• Manage due‑diligence, legal documentation, tax implications, and appraisals.
• Monitor counter‑party performance and payment risk across the portfolio.
• Ensure timely recovery of loans and manage non‑current credits.
• Generate exposure reports for senior management.
• Estimate working‑capital requirements and secure appropriate financing structures.
• Negotiate with clients, banks, funds, and insurers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in lending, M&A, or investment banking with exposure to mining, oil & gas, or commodities.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and credit risk assessment.
• Foundational knowledge of debt structuring and counter‑party risk evaluation.
• Fluency in Spanish (essential); Portuguese is a strong advantage.
• Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Team player with a proactive, commercially‑driven mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (integrated 3‑statement models, scenario & sensitivity analysis).
• VBA or Power BI (plus).
• Financial modeling, including DCF and debt‑capacity analysis.
• Credit risk assessment.
