Software Engineer – Data Conversion

About the role

Lightspeed is looking for a Software Engineer to join its data conversion team. You will work on the tools that import new dealer data into the Evolution platform, helping modernize the conversion process.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Conversion IDE, a .NET desktop application written in C#.
• Integrate product updates into the C# NuGet package used by conversion specialists.
• Design and build backend services and APIs using .NET 8 as the team moves toward a service‑oriented architecture.
• Handle large, complex datasets and database operations for data migrations.
• Own development and quality assurance for conversion tooling, including bug identification and resolution.
• Provide occasional support for a related Angular front‑end application.
• Participate in code reviews, write technical documentation, and leverage AI‑assisted development tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication and collaborative working style.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Required skills

• C# and object‑oriented programming.
• .NET (including .NET 8) development.
• Angular front‑end development.
• Entity Framework.
• SQL, PostgreSQL, and complex query writing.
• Software design patterns such as factory and dependency injection.
