Senior Go Backend Engineer (Remote Contractor)

About the role

Compass is looking for a Senior Go Backend Engineer to join its remote engineering team. You will work on highly scalable distributed systems that support millions of real‑estate interactions, helping agents, buyers, and sellers across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Go.
• Build and improve backend platforms that power core domains such as CRM, Search, Authorization, Integrations, and Transaction Management.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver reliable, high‑impact features.
• Participate in architectural discussions and make technical decisions.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment practices.
• Enhance system reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong ownership mindset, from design through production operations.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges in a fast‑paced environment.
• Legal authorization to work remotely from Argentina, Uruguay, or Mexico.
• Fluent English résumé.
