Security System Technician III (Embedded)

About the role

Data Centers embed dedicated personnel at their locations to handle security system health issues efficiently. The Security Systems Technician III supports physical security systems through maintenance, troubleshooting and installation, coordinating with partner teams and internal support groups.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, support and coordinate partner teams on all physical security systems, keeping documentation up to date
• Design, deploy and manage commissioning of small installations, and enforce installation standards
• Manage critical spares and local inventory with global teams
• Triage and troubleshoot security hardware such as card readers, ACS controllers, door modules, cameras, encoders, fiber and POE converters, key boxes and ICAM units
• Repair and replace devices directly, and perform preventative maintenance of CCTV cameras (clean lenses, check focus and field of view)
• Provide training on new security technologies to DC OPS and the local security team
• Own self-generated work tickets, keeping them documented with completion status, future actions and resolutions
• Maintain an accurate inventory of security replacement parts and follow security best practices and quality control

Required profile

• 5-7 years of experience as a security systems technician
• At least 2 years of experience with CCure hardware
• Safety training: OSHA 10 Hour, CPR, aerial platform and ladder safety awareness

Required skills

• CCure 9000 installer/maintainer certified
• IP-based CCTV, or equivalent experience
• Cisco certification preferred (baseline networking knowledge)
• Traka Keybox key management or equivalent
• SightLogix or equivalent perimeter intrusion detection
• IRIS ID/Alcatraz AI biometrics or equivalent
