Freelance Peer Reviewer – Academic Journals

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers to provide freelance peer‑review services for academic journals and publishers. This remote role allows you to contribute your expertise to the scholarly community while working on a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, written feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least two peer‑review‑eligible publications within the last two years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager).
